B/W Composition and Graphic Design
Black and White Composition

About
The goal of this project was to study and abstract a representational object with depth. I studied the shapes, highlights and shadows to apply them to this black and white composition. The braided textures of the metal cross were the main focus, along with the center piece, which became the focal point. The concept of depth was created through hatching, stippling, and shading with microns and markers. Another allusion of depth was added by overlapping pieces and adding extra paper overtop the black art board.

Graphic Design

About
This project focused on graphic design through turning thematic ideas into a composition while using the visual elements and compositional principles of design. I created a book jacket from a book about landscape architecture. The original cover lacked unity and visual appeal. A historic place called the Alhambra was used as the background because of its beautiful architecture and landscaping which represent this topic well. The greenery and vibrant greens and blues were included to catch the eye and illustrate landscape architecture.
